Disney enthusiasts who haven’t taken an official Disney World tour are missing out. On my most recent trip to Disney World my family and I took the Walt Disney: Marceline to Magic Kingdom Tour.
We chose this tour for several reasons. First, at $49 per adult it’s very reasonably priced. We didn’t want a tour to take up a full day at the parks which makes this tour the perfect length at three hours.
Arriving for Your Tour
When you arrive for your tour you’ll be given name tags (yours to keep!) and your earpiece so you can hear your tour guide at all times. Our tour guide, Emily, Â began with some history of Walt Disney’s upbringing in Marceline, Missouri.
Special Perks
Now get ready to feel like a VIP because you’ll be the first into the park! We were able to get great pictures of an empty park and gorgeous early-morning lighting. You’ll get to skip the lines on three different rides as your tour guide gives you the history and fun facts that you won’t hear anywhere else.
First up, we were the first people to ride The Haunted Mansion (my favorite ride). Our wonderful tour guide took us through the interactive queue and pointed out hidden easter eggs and games that I had never heard of. When we got on the ride, she continued to point out cool facts. We could hear her perfectly through our earpieces.
After we left the ride, we got the opportunity to do something I’ve always dreamed of and go behind the scenes of the Haunted Mansion ride to see how some of the ghosts come to life (so to speak). We couldn’t take any photos, but I wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise for you anyway!
After a quick bathroom break, we jumped on the Winnie the Pooh ride, walked through Cinderella’s castle, and hopped on the Carousel of Progress. Once we emerged from the ride, Emily took questions and thanked us for joining us on her tour. She was wonderful – informative and attentive! I loved this tour and would recommend to anyone who loves Disney history, 14 or older. If you want to opt for a longer and more in-depth tour, check out the Keys to the Kingdom. This five-hour tour is $99 per person.
