Staying at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

Staying at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

Staying at Disney World is not cheap. The Disney Caribbean Beach Resort is a beautiful, central, and affordable option for your next magical vacation!

There are three tiers of hotels in Disney World: Value (most affordable), Moderate (right in the middle), and Deluxe (most pricey), as well as campground and Deluxe Villa options. I’ve stayed in all three types, and while each has its benefit, there’s something that’s sure to check every box at the Caribbean Beach Resort – a great option in the moderate category!

Here’s the breakdown of this gorgeous resort:

The Resort

The Caribbean Beach resort is made up of five areas: Jamaica, Aruba, Martinique, Barbados, and Trinidad. Each area has several buildings and is situated around a body of water called Barefoot Bay. During our most recent stay, we stayed in the Trinidad section which is home to the Pirate-themed rooms.

One thing to note about the buildings: They are all two-level but have no elevators. If you have a scooter, stroller, or have trouble getting up and down steps, I’d recommend requesting a ground-level room.

Rooms

The rooms at Caribbean Beach are the standard layout that you would find in any standard hotel room. They offer standard and water views, as well as two double beds or one king bed. However, I’d recommend booking the Pirate-themed rooms to make your stay extra magical!

Sail the seas on pirate ship beds with lighted headboards and stash your booty on barrel-style side tables. The Pirates of the Caribbean theme was so fun and prevalent throughout every detail of the room from light fixtures to the shower curtain. If there’s a pirate lover in your party (or you’re one yourself!) these rooms are sure to be a huge hit.

Dining

There are lots of dining options at Caribbean Beach. For an easy counter-service meal, head to the Spyglass Grill. There’s outdoor seating with pretty views of Barefoot Bay.

In Old Port Royale (the main building) you’ll find Sebastian’s Bistro, the recently-reopened table service option at this hotel. It offers a  delicious family-style menu of Caribbean cuisine.

Also in Old Port Royale, you’ll find Centertown Market for another quick-service option as well as Centertown Market Grab & Go for snacks to, well, grab and go!

Finally, there’s the Banana Cabana pool bar with drinks and small bites.

Fun Around the Resort

Two water slides, Spanish citadel decor, and water cannons?! Normally on Disney vacations, I spend most of the time in the parks, but the main pool at Caribbean Beach is a can’t-miss. There is also a hot tub and a shipwreck-themed play area for younger kids.

Each area has its own pool as well if you are further away or want a less crowded experience.

Transportation

Here is where the Caribbean Beach Resort really shines – the transportation options. Catch the Skyliner to Epcot and Hollywood Studios and the bus to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs. The addition of the Skyliner cuts down on the time waiting for the right bus to come, and it makes it easy to head over to the other two parks.

Overall, this hotel greatly exceeded my expectations. It was beautiful, easily walkable, and I loved the food and theming options! Even though we spent a little more for the Pirate theming, it was still affordable for a 7-day vacation.

If you’re ready to explore other hotel options in Disney World, check out one of my favorites – the Animal Kingdom Lodge!
