In the heart of Dublin lies the beautiful Wynn’s Hotel, a unique place to stay that blends its historic charm with modern-day comforts, making it a great option for your stay in Dublin.
The Property
Wynn’s Hotel was built in 1845, bombed in 1916, and rebuilt in 1921, making it the only building to do so in Dublin at the time. In its illustrious history, it has been used as a filming location, a meeting spot for historical events, and as an official partner of Dublin UNESCO City of Literature.
One of the best features of the hotel is its walkability. It is just steps away from the sights of downtown Dublin, perfect for the adventurous traveler.
The Rooms
The rooms, including our Superior Double Room, are comfortable with decor inspired by the hotel’s past but supplemented with all-modern amenities. The real star of the show is the large jet-style bathtub, which I of course jumped in as soon as possible.
The beds were oh-so-comfy and I loved the cherry wood furniture!
Dining
Now for the good stuff – the food! We booked a breakfast-included package so that we could grab a bite and hit the town early. To be honest, I could have stayed in and eaten the delicious food all day.
Wynn’s hotel has two dining locations: the Saints & Scholars Lounge and The Playwright Restaurant. For breakfast, we stopped in the Playwright Restaurant where I tried my first Full Irish breakfast – a 10/10! They offer other traditional Irish dishes like Grilled Kippers and Eggs Benedictine, which I always recommend.
The Saints and Scholars Lounge is open for lunch and dinner, with a beautiful bar and varied many offerings.
Overall
I had a wonderful stay in this beautiful hotel! The location, amenities, and walkability made it a great home base while I explored Dublin.
