Staying at the Disneyland Hotel

Staying at the Disneyland Hotel

If you’re visiting Disneyland and looking for a quintessentially Disney place to stay, the Disneyland Hotel is for you.

Whenever my family or friends come to town, we always stay at this resort. From the theming to the proximity to the parks, the Disneyland Hotel can’t be beaten. Here’s everything you need to know about staying at Disneyland’s oldest hotel.

The Rooms

There are three separate towers that make up the Disneyland Hotel. The Fantasy Tower is the main building where the check-in desk is located, the Adventure Tower houses all of the rooms with Club-level access, and the Frontier Tower flank a beautiful courtyard.

The centerpiece of the Disneyland Hotel rooms is the magical headboard. Flip the switch and watch the fireworks light up while being serenaded with a song!

Signature Suites

In addition to the guest rooms, the Disneyland Hotel is also home to five themed signature suites. Guests can choose from the Adventureland, Big Thunder, Pirates of the Caribbean, Fairytale, or Mickey Mouse Penthouse, all of which sleep up to 6 adults. These suites can get pretty pricey – we’re talking a few Gs per night – but offer a unique experience that not many people take advantage of.

If your wallet is crying at the mere thought of shelling out $3,000 for a hotel room, you can experience a taste of the theming by checking out the doors to the suites – my favorite is the dark wood of the Pirates of the Caribbean suite.

Dining

Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar

“Subtle”? Never heard of it. This super fun tiki bar is packed with theming from floor to ceiling. We celebrated my sister’s 21st birthday here (ready and waiting at the bar at the stroke of midnight) and it was fun, festive, and the drinks were delicious. Pro tip: order the Krakaota Punch to cause a little bit of mayhem.

Steakhouse 55

Oh hi fancypants looking for the steakhouse, I like your style. Sometimes you need a break from burgers and fries, and fortunately, Disneyland has got you covered with Steakhouse 55.

Goofy’s Kitchen

My family and I are big fans of character experiences. When my sister and I were young, we would shy away, snap a quick pic, and then want to jump back on rides. Now that we’re older, wiser, and a little more confident, we love to goof around with the characters.

Goofy’s Kitchen is one of the most fun character dining experiences we’ve had. The food is delicious and the characters made sure to spend lots of time at each table. We even got a complimentary professional photo with Goofy that was printed for us by the time we left.

Tangaroa Terrace

Enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner at this casual dining location with tropical vibes. Enjoy a delicious poke or ramen bowl at Tangaroa Terrance’s outdoor patio.

Getting to the Park

So, the bummer is: it’s a bit of a trek to the park. You have to walk down the length of Downtown Disney to get to the entrance. The upside is: you can walk to the park! If the walk is too much for you, you can take the monorail

When you stay in a Disneyland hotel, you are able to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours. The schedule changes daily, but you are able to enter the park an hour earlier – score.

Disney’s hotels are a theme park in and of themselves! Check out some of the other great places to stay at Disneyland like Paradise Pier.
